At present, NetLink has offices in Taiwan, the United States and mainland China. The US office is even near the headquarters of Broadcom. The company has so far raised $15 million in funds, mostly for research and development. The OPL1000 developed by NetLink is the first terminal product to be adopted by customers, starting from medical applications. Developing OPL1000 took three years of network connection, and the development progress of follow-up products is gradually accelerating. NetEase’s next-generation chip OPL2000 is expected to be mass-produced in the first half of 2019. Relevant research and development has started from 2017 and continues to improve. performance. As for the updated OPL3000, the plan is to mass production from the end of 2019 to the beginning of 2020, and expand to the narrow-band Internet of Things (NB-IoT) related market.
In addition to the networked thermometer, the networked chip has been imported into the smart door lock development by the customer. The chip is not only responsible for transmission, but also acts as an application processor for the door lock system, which not only has better performance, but also saves power. At present, many smart door locks on the market often require a lot of batteries. At this time, power consumption is an important performance indicator. Jason Lin pointed out that the smart door lock is an important product and can be the main control role in the smart home field. Many large-scale system factories hope to launch a series of products, such as using smart speakers, which can turn on lights and control the objects in the home through sound, but in his opinion, the first thing to enter the family is to open the door lock, which can be used to trigger the next The steps that will occur at home, and when different family members open the door, the settings such as room temperature, lighting, and starting devices may vary.
In addition, people often go to the front of the door, often patrol the various switches at home, Lin Ming-yoo said, with a smart door lock, you can connect the device set at home, or when there is a package to send When you come, some of the access control is automatically turned on. Because the smart door lock can distinguish open members, it can even let parents know that the child is home. After leaving Broadcom, he started his own business. Jason Lin pointed out that the products made in the network are less than the ones in Broadcom, and they require less staff and funds. According to the experience, the network development product will first describe the product specifications and evaluate whether the chip will be used. After all, the development of the chip requires long-term investment and cannot make the wrong product. In the case of AI chips, it may be better to do something wrong, not to be slow, but the company’s product direction is not to make mistakes, rather slower, otherwise it will hurt the team and funds.
